Playa del Carmen’s hotel market is unlike Cancún’s: hundreds of boutique hotels of 10 to 60 rooms on and around Quinta Avenida, Calle 12 and Calle 38, built fast during the 2000s and 2010s, plus the larger all-inclusives of Playacar and the beachfront north of the centre. Working in the centre of Playa
Most boutique hotels sit in pedestrian or near-pedestrian streets around Quinta Avenida, where trucks can only enter at set hours and there is no space to store material. We plan early-morning deliveries, small crews and prefabricated elements, protect neighbours and guests from dust and noise, and keep the reception and rooftop working while floors are closed in sequence.
Permits in Solidaridad
Playa del Carmen hotels are in the municipality of Solidaridad. Interior refreshes usually need a notice and Protección Civil review; rooftop structures, extensions and facade changes need a construction licence with DRO, and Quinta Avenida has specific rules on facades, signage and terraces. Playacar adds its own association approvals. We prepare all of them.
