Playa del Carmen built its name on beach clubs: the strip around Calle 28 and the Mamitas beach, the clubs of Playacar, the quieter beaches of Punta Esmeralda and Xcalacoco to the north. Behind the beach, the town has also become a wellness hub, with yoga studios, spas and retreats in Playacar, Corasol and the centre. We build and renovate both, on a coast where erosion and sargassum change the beach every season.
Clubs around Calle 28 and the centre's beaches, renovated around the season.
Beach facilities and clubs inside Playacar, under the association's design rules.
New clubs and facilities around Punta Esmeralda, Xcalacoco and Punta Bete.
Treatment rooms, shalas and wet areas in Playacar, Corasol and the centre.
Pools, jacuzzis, steam rooms and cold plunges with ventilation that prevents mould.
Removable structures, raised levels and access planned around a changing beach.
Playa del Carmen’s central beaches have seen severe erosion, sand replenishment and seasonal sargassum. A beach club here needs structures that can be partly dismantled, decks and furniture zones set back from the high-water line, and drainage that copes with tropical rain. We design with the history of the specific stretch of beach and the club’s ZOFEMAT concession in mind.
