GoMart Store in the Riviera Maya
The complete civil works for a GoMart convenience store, built strictly to the franchise technical and brand specification: ~150 m² delivered in three and a half months.

What the build involved
The store sits on a reinforced concrete foundation with isolated footings, sized to carry high-capacity commercial refrigeration. Perimeter walls in 15 cm block with confining columns and ring beams give the structural resistance the coastal climate demands.
A high-capacity three-phase electrical system was installed, with dedicated distribution boards for refrigeration, air conditioning, lighting and the point-of-sale circuits. Interior lighting is 100 percent LED, recessed into the ceiling, achieving a uniform 500 lux across the sales floor.
Security systems included structured cabling for CCTV across twelve camera positions, a perimeter alarm and access control to the stockroom. The metalwork covered the facade steel structure, automatic entrance doors and hurricane protection.
Civil works and structure
Work opened with the topographic survey and excavation for foundations. Isolated footings were cast in f’c=250 kg/cm² concrete, with reinforcement calculated for the permanent and imposed loads of commercial use. Block walls were reinforced with 15×20 cm confining columns at three-metre centres, plus footing and ring beams. The intermediate slab was cast solid at 12 cm with steel in both directions.
Provision for commercial refrigeration
Reinforced concrete bases were built for the refrigeration units, with independent drains connected to the sanitary drainage system. Electrical supplies for refrigeration run on independent circuits with dedicated thermal-magnetic protection and backup. Conduit was left in place for refrigerant gas lines and condensate drainage.
LED lighting and systems
The whole lighting scheme uses high-efficiency LED. Forty-watt LED panels were recessed into a mineral-fibre ceiling, reaching a uniform 500 lux on the sales floor and 300 lux in service areas. The electrical system includes backup with automatic transfer, and battery-backed emergency circuits for signage and exits.
