Architectural Metalwork: Stairs, Railings, Pergolas and Gates

In a premium villa or hotel, metalwork is what people touch and look at every day: the stair that floats in the double-height living room, the glass railing in front of the sea view, the pergola over the rooftop, the entrance gate. We design and make it in our own workshop with marine-grade materials, so it still looks new after years of salt air.

What We Make

Steel Stairs

Floating, stringer, spiral and sculptural stairs in steel with wood, stone or concrete treads.

Railings & Balustrades

Stainless 316, glass with stainless or aluminium channels, cable and vertical bar railings, to code height.

Pergolas & Louvres

Steel and aluminium pergolas, fixed or motorised louvres, shading screens and rooftop structures.

Gates & Doors

Sliding and swing gates, pivot doors and security doors, automated and finished to the architecture.

Screens & Facades

Perforated and laser-cut screens, facade fins and decorative panels.

Marine-Grade Finishes

316 stainless, marine aluminium, galvanizing and powder coating for coastal exposure.

Materials that survive the coast

On the Caribbean, the wrong metal shows rust stains within months. We use 316 stainless (not 304) for railings and fittings near the sea, marine-grade aluminium with powder coating for pergolas and louvres, and galvanized and painted steel for structural stairs and gates. Welds are passivated or sealed, water is never allowed to sit in profiles, and dissimilar metals are isolated to avoid galvanic corrosion.

Designed with the architecture

  • Stairs need their fixings planned in the slab and walls; a floating stair is an engineering piece, not just a design.
  • Railings must meet height and load rules, especially on rooftops and in rentals and hotels.
  • Pergolas on rooftops need hurricane anchorage and drainage that does not damage the waterproofing.
  • Gates need foundations, tracks and power planned before the driveway is finished.

In 2026 a straight or floating steel stair costs about $45,000–$180,000 MXN installed depending on length, treads and finish; spiral or sculptural stairs $90,000–$300,000 MXN.

316 stainless. 304 develops rust stains quickly in the salt air of the Caribbean coast. We also isolate dissimilar metals and seal welds.

A frameless tempered laminated glass railing costs about $6,500–$12,000 MXN per linear metre installed; stainless steel railings $4,500–$9,000 MXN per metre.

Yes, if it is anchored and designed for wind uplift. Motorised louvres can be set to open position in storms; fabric shades should be removed.
