Every rainy season and hurricane leaves potholes in Chetumal; we repair with hot mix and rebuilt bases, then seal and re-stripe so the same spots do not fail again. The city floods in heavy storms in low areas near the bay; storm design combines pipes, open channels and infiltration where the soil allows it.
Protective coatings that restore colour, close the surface and add years to tired asphalt.
Broken slab replacement, joint resealing and kerb and sidewalk repair.
Saw-cut, excavation of wet or broken base, recompaction, tack coat and hot mix, rolled flush.
Normal city traffic allows daytime work with traffic control; the rainy and hurricane season from June to November is the main constraint for earthworks. Repairs and sealing are scheduled in these windows, by sections, with traffic kept moving.
Chetumal has its own suppliers of hot mix, concrete and aggregates, so prices are among the lowest in the state, though our crews travel about four hours from Playa del Carmen. We choose hot mix, concrete or pavers for each repair according to this supply situation.
Chetumal, the state capital, needs street paving and resurfacing in colonias, car parks for government buildings, commerce and clinics, and yards for logistics linked to the border and the free zone.
The municipality of Othón P. Blanco and state agencies handle licences and public works; connections to federal highways need SCT approval, and many street projects follow municipal standards for kerbs and sidewalks.
