We remodel bathrooms on Holbox from the slab up: demolition, new plumbing, full waterproofing, tile, glass and extraction, under one fixed quote. Holbox has small hotels, guesthouses and wooden or palapa houses on sand streets, where owners mostly need repairs, bathrooms, paint and maintenance rather than large new builds.
PPR or PEX supply lines, proper traps and venting, and pressure-tested pipes behind every wall we close.
Curbless showers with linear drains, tempered glass panels and niches built into the wall.
Custom vanities from our carpentry shop, mirrors with LED lighting and fittings rated for hard water.
Fresh water is scarce and supplied irregularly, so bathrooms and gardens are designed with low-flow fittings, cisterns and treated greywater wherever possible. That is why we size softeners, filters and pumps with the bathroom, and choose fittings that tolerate scale.
Holbox sits between the Gulf and a shallow lagoon: very humid, salty and exposed to northers in winter, so wood, metal and paint need extra protection and frequent maintenance. Grout, paint, extraction and metal fittings are specified for these conditions so the bathroom still looks new after several seasons.
Everything arrives by ferry from Chiquilá and moves on sand streets by golf cart or small truck, about three hours plus the crossing from our workshops, so jobs are planned in tight batches.
The island is part of the Yum Balam protected area, so works need municipal and environmental approval, building heights and materials are restricted, and vehicles on the island are limited.
High season runs from winter to summer holidays, so most hotels schedule renovation and maintenance in the quieter autumn months.
