We build docks, piers and boat lifts on Holbox: bathymetry, ZOFEMAT and environmental permits, piles, hardwood or composite decking and a lift sized to your boat. Holbox is a car-free island of boutique hotels and low-rise villas; premium work here means spas, plunge pools, small courts and lagoon-side docks, with every material ferried from Chiquilá.
Electric lifts for boats and jet skis, stainless and aluminium for salt water.
Shore power, water, LED step lighting and cleats, all marine grade.
ZOFEMAT or CONAGUA concession, environmental impact statement and municipal licence.
The island is part of the Yum Balam protected area, so works need municipal and environmental approval, building heights and materials are restricted, and vehicles on the island are limited. Pile type, deck height and length follow the bathymetry and the federal concession, never a standard drawing.
Holbox sits between the Gulf and a shallow lagoon: very humid, salty and exposed to northers in winter, so wood, metal and paint need extra protection and frequent maintenance. Hardware is marine-grade stainless or hot-dip galvanised, and decks are chosen for water, sun and bare feet. The Holbox lagoon is very shallow, so docks run long on slender piles and boat lifts are rarely needed; the Yum Balam reserve adds environmental review.
Everything arrives by ferry from Chiquilá and moves on sand streets by golf cart or small truck, about three hours plus the crossing from our workshops, so jobs are planned in tight batches.
High season runs from winter to summer holidays, so most hotels schedule renovation and maintenance in the quieter autumn months.
