We build docks, piers and boat lifts in Mahahual: bathymetry, ZOFEMAT and environmental permits, piles, hardwood or composite decking and a lift sized to your boat. Mahahual is a small Costa Maya town with beachfront villas, dive lodges and the cruise pier; premium projects are few but large, with docks, spas and storm-ready envelopes.
Treated hardwood, galvanised steel or concrete piles, with decks in tropical hardwood or composite.
Shore power, water, LED step lighting and cleats, all marine grade.
Deck boards fixed to release under storm surge, piles designed for wave loads.
Licences come from Othón P. Blanco municipality; the coast is under ZOFEMAT and close to the Banco Chinchorro reserve, so exterior works follow environmental limits. Pile type, deck height and length follow the bathymetry and the federal concession, never a standard drawing.
The village is fully exposed to the Caribbean and to hurricanes, so marine-grade metal, strong fixings and hurricane-ready finishes are essential; Hurricane Dean in 2007 flattened much of the village, and today shutters, anchored roofs and stainless hardware are part of every serious job. Hardware is marine-grade stainless or hot-dip galvanised, and decks are chosen for water, sun and bare feet.
Supply is limited and many buildings use cisterns and rainwater, so low-flow fittings and storage are standard, and we often add rainwater collection from the roof to the cistern, with first-flush filters, to keep bathrooms and gardens working in the dry months.
Cruise-ship days and holidays bring peaks, so works in hotels are planned around them, with noisy tasks on days without ships and the quietest months, September and October, kept for larger renovations.
