Full Home Renovation in Playa del Carmen

What changed in the house
The kitchen was redesigned from scratch with bespoke joinery in tzalam, a tropical hardwood chosen for durability as much as for grain. Upper and lower cabinets were built with soft-close, along with a central island topped in quartz and open shelving for display. Every appliance was integrated into the design.
Both bathrooms were renovated in large-format imported Italian tile, with rain showers, floating vanities with vessel basins, recessed niches lit with LED and matt black brassware. The plumbing was replaced in full with CPVC and copper, which is what survives a tropical climate.
The electrical installation was renewed entirely: a new load centre, dedicated circuits for the kitchen and air conditioning, recessed and perimeter LED lighting throughout, and provision for home automation. Floors were replaced, walls and ceilings treated, and walk-in wardrobes built in the main bedrooms.
The fitted kitchen
The kitchen was the heart of this renovation. Existing units and finishes were stripped out to build a fitted kitchen in tzalam with a sealed natural finish. Cabinets carry European soft-close hardware, full-extension drawer runners and wall units with frosted glass. The 3 cm white quartz worktop resists staining and heat, set against a smoke-grey subway tile splashback.
The bathrooms
Both were rebuilt to a contemporary scheme. The principal bathroom has a frameless tempered-glass screen, a stainless rain shower, a 120 cm floating vanity with twin basins and a recessed niche lit with LED.
