Central Cancún has a municipal sewer network operated under the Aguakan concession, but a large part of the city's growth does not: Costa Mujeres and Playa Mujeres, the developments along the road to the airport and Puerto Morelos, the outer supermanzanas and many hotel properties that treat their own water to reuse it. Large towers in Puerto Cancún and the Hotel Zone also face connection limits and pre-treatment requirements. We design and build treatment plants that fit those conditions.
Plants for new resorts and condos outside the urban sewer, with reuse for irrigation and golf.
Plants for gated communities and logistics parks along Highway 307 south of the city.
Upgrading or replacing old resort plants to meet current standards and higher occupancy.
Treated water for gardens, golf and cooling towers, cutting municipal water bills.
Grease and solids pre-treatment for restaurants, laundries and hotels discharging to the network.
Discharge permits, environmental conditions and lab testing to NOM-001-SEMARNAT-2021.
Whether a Cancún project connects to the network depends on location and the operator's capacity at that point. Inside the urban area, many projects connect but must meet discharge limits for municipal sewer (NOM-002) and install grease and solids pre-treatment. Outside it — Costa Mujeres, the corridor south towards Puerto Morelos, isolated lots — a full treatment plant is usually the only option, and the effluent becomes irrigation water. We confirm feasibility before design so you do not size a plant you do not need, or miss one you do.
Cancún sits between the Caribbean and the Nichupté lagoon system, which has suffered from wastewater pollution for decades. Authorities are strict about any discharge near it. We build watertight tanks, tested before backfilling, design for high water tables on lagoon and coastal lots, and prefer reuse over discharge wherever possible.
| Project | Typical flow | Cost (MXN) |
|---|---|---|
| Boutique hotel / small condo | 10–50 m³/day | $0.9M–$3.5M |
| Hotel Zone resort / tower | 50–200 m³/day | $3.5M–$12M |
| Costa Mujeres / corridor development | 200–1,000 m³/day | $12M–$45M+ |
