A parking lot in Costa Mujeres is the first thing guests and customers see; we design and build it with the right pavement per zone, drainage, accessible bays and clear markings. Costa Mujeres is a new resort corridor: long hotel access roads, large car parks, service roads and the infrastructure of master-planned residential and golf developments, much of it built from scratch on undeveloped land.
Thermoplastic or traffic paint, arrows, accessible symbols, wheel stops and signs.
Tree pits, planters and shade that keep cars cool and help meet green-area requirements.
Asphalt for bays, concrete at entrances, ramps, bins and truck routes where loads concentrate.
Flat ground and a high water table make drainage the main design issue; grades, swales and retention areas replace deep infiltration wells, which can fail when groundwater is close to the surface. Grades, inlets and infiltration are designed for these conditions so storms drain in minutes.
Resorts under construction allow heavy work all day, while operating resorts require night or phased paving; turtle-nesting season from May to October limits lighting and night works near the beach. We phase the works around this pattern so the business keeps operating.
Works fall under Isla Mujeres municipality on the mainland, and most projects sit inside master plans with their own environmental conditions for mangroves, dunes and turtle-nesting beaches, which restrict lighting and works near the coast.
The corridor is low-lying sand and coastal soils over limestone, with wetlands inland; roads here need geotextiles or thicker granular bases, and rock is often deeper than further south.
