Why paint fails on this coast
Paint peels here because it is applied on damp, salty or dusty walls, because cheap vinyl paint cannot stretch with the cracks of a concrete house, and because metal is painted without removing the rust. We measure wall moisture, wash off salt, open and seal cracks, prime bare plaster and use elastomeric coatings on exposed facades. On metal we remove rust to bare steel where needed and use an anti-corrosive primer plus enamel rated for marine environments.
