We build private spas in Akumal: dry saunas, steam rooms, temazcal, cold plunges and home gyms, with the waterproofing and ventilation the climate demands. Akumal has oceanfront villas in Half Moon Bay, South Akumal and Jade Bay, many rented to international guests, beside a protected bay with turtle-nesting beaches.
Fully waterproofed and vapour-sealed rooms with sloped ceilings, steam generator and aroma dosing.
Rubber flooring on a levelled slab, mirrors, air conditioning, audio and equipment layout.
Massage and treatment rooms with showers and wet-area finishes for hotel and villa spas.
Front-row homes face open sea and constant spray, while the jungle side is humid and shaded, so the right paint, metal and plant choices change from one side of the highway to the other. Wellness rooms add value to villas and rentals here, so we plan them with the pool, terrace and guest flow.
Water is hard and some areas rely on wells or cisterns, so softeners, filters and low-flow fittings are typical in every bathroom remodel. Vapour barriers, extraction and drainage keep steam inside the spa and out of the rest of the house.
Akumal belongs to Tulum municipality; the bay and beach are under ZOFEMAT and turtle-nesting protection, so exterior lighting, beach landscaping and work near the sand follow strict rules.
Many units are rented through the year, so work is phased by unit and kept inside quiet hours.
